So what is everyone using to hold there probes in the sump? Were did you order them from? Looking for something neat and organized to attach my sump somehow. Pics would be great! Thanks...
************ had a link to a very nice proble holder with magnetic mount. A few months ago it was supposedly getting ready to release. I'll look for it when I get home, think I saved the link
I like it but was reading an interesting debate about it on another forum. They were posting 2 concerns, the first being that the probes might be too close too the magnets? The next was that the probes would be sitting to close together. Not sure if either is a valid concern just passing on what I was reading.
Does anyone think this might be a concern? They don't come out till 8-24 next week.
I doubt the magnets would have an effect on the probes. Aren't most probes based off of conductivity. A magnet, even an electromagnet shouldn't have any effect on the conductivity of the water.
Conductivity probes are at least. Many other styles of probe (pH for instance) measure differences in concentrations of certain ions between an exposed electrode and one inside a glass bulb.

Agreed, but the signals produced by just about any style of probe we're likely to use are extremely weak and prone to interference. That said, I'm not sure a magnet would cause such interference, and at any rate, it would be really easy to test - put a magnet next to your probe and see if the reading changes. If there was any sort of interference, I would expect it would be static in nature (i.e. readings would be off by "X" percent, as opposed to "they're just all over the place") which is something you could easily compensate for with calibration.
