Probiotic Salt and dKH question

So on the box of this salt it says to not let the dKH get above an 8. It doesn't explain why, does anyone know why and what will happen if it does go above an 8 dKH. My tank is running a dKH between 7.4 and 8.2.

This is due to probiotic salt helping to run low nutrients. It is widely known that in ULNS, SPS corals may decline when alk exceeds 8.0 dkh. Cheers

Ok I guess I am one of the few that have no clue what ULNS is. I appreciate your response but I was trying to get a more detailed answer, maybe someone from Aquaforest can shed some light on this subject for me.

For better corals growth and coloration We recommend to keep dKH between 6,5-8,0 because in that parameters corals has better absorb and helps with calcium calcification.

Best regards,
Aquaforest

Ultra Low Nutrient System ;)

Systems running ULNS with use of a carbon source and bacteria source need kh lower than 8.0, otherwise you could experience alk burn or RTN. Higher nutrients, higher kh, lower nutrents lower kh. This relates to sps corals mostly. Cheers
