Problem "Paly"

I got some frags yesterday and one of them, a PPE, almost appears to be shedding a waxy skin from one polyp. It is not opening and the one polpy that looks more healthy is shrinking and no longer opening. Anyone ever notice this happen with Z. Gigantus before? If so what was the outcome?

Mine would look like that when they were stressed from shipping and/or dying. I would give them some sort of Iodine dip (TMPCC, SeaChem Reef Dip, Lugols) and then put them under limited lighting (actinics) and hope for the best. HTH

I had this issue with my RPE's which I dipped and in a few days everything was back to normal. This is my experience with the slime

I would not put them into more stress by dipping... PE's don't like being dipped... IMO, you do more harm to them than good when dipping.. if it's a small enough frag and it's apparent that there's no predators, I would just put them into a overhang (shaded area) and hope for the best.. they are probably just adjusting or still recuperating from shipping..
