I noticed the stream was not working today. I took it out cleaned it up. So everything would spin freely. When I pluged back in it spun but there was no flow coming out. It almaost seemed like it as sucking water back in. Any help would be great.

This would be caused by the brake shoes being damaged or missaligned. If you lost the red oring at the bottom of the pump this would be a cause. If the brake shoes were broken or lost this could be a cause. They usually break only from wavemaker use, that is why we don't allow it under the warranty, I suspect you forgot the red oring somewhere. The brakes stop it from spinning backwards and when the poles realign the correct rotation starts.

I have the red o ring. where does it go? I have it right now on the very end of the shaft. Does this sound right. What is the brake? It did seem like it was spinning backwards. Thanks- Paul

The red oring goes under the upper bearing (part at the bottom, remember you are technically working on the pump upside down). This piece goes under the magnetic rotor, they should be sepperate and freely spinning on each other. The brakes are the 2 black pieces with serrations that protrude from the base of the shaft and mate the drive shaft to the magnetic rotor, if removed the rotor can spin without engaging the shaft and the shaft removed.

Yes, the upper bearing comes off- being seized to the magnet is the number one cause of stoppage.
