Problem with 6105

I have 2 6105s I have been running for about 6 months. Bought from Premium Aquatics. I cleaned both of them on Tuesday to remove the coralline in a vinegar dip. This morning, of them started sputtering and clicking. I returned this afternoon, and the prop would not turn at all. I removed the prop shaft, everything looked ok. Started them back up and it worked for about 5 minutes then started the clicking and sputtering again until it finally stopped spinning. It gave no indication of any issues until today. Do I need to try a new shaft? Is it under any type of warranty still?

Please let me know if you need any more details.

Terry

The warranty is 2 years. I would verify that the drive unit is assembled correctly and the magnet can spin freely, you should compare it to the image of 6105.700 on tunze.com. I would further be sure the front housing of the pump is fully engaged and is not loose or crooked.

The shaft definately is assembled correctly. I'll check the housing later.
Can you let me know what the next step is if everything looks ok? Do I need to send to you or will you send me a part?

thanks

If the drive unit is all correct, then we have to determine what is wrong, I would need the complete pump and power supply. I don't need the holder and magnets. Please send it to:

You don't need an RMA, but be sure a note is in the box with a return address and phone number.

Hey Roger, I around to setting the unit back up tonight. It ran for about 15 minutes then completely stopped. It will click on like the propeller wants to turn, but won't. Could there be an issue with the controller instead? Its only a couple months old.

I would double check the drive unit, make sure the disk is completely at the base of the shaft, so it is touching the blue rubber bushing and the hard plastic side with the groove must face up. It ran 24hrs without stopping before I sent it back, but I did not use a controller in testing. I only ran it continuously. If there is an issue, I would pay return shipping as we obviously missed something.

I hooked up the good pump to the new power supply you sent last night, and the pump worked, so I think the issue lies with something in the actual pump. I still do not see anything obvious with the prop not being installed correctly. I have included a couple pics if you can see any issues.
