Problem with live fish order

I purchased a Freckled Hawkfish and a Stars & Striped Puffer last Thursday (July 14) from MD Live.

The delivery was fine and both fish arrived (and still are) alive. I've generally been pleased - the only problem I have is that the S&S Puffer is smaller that what I ordered. (I ordered a medium size)

From head to tail, the puffer is about 3 inches. On MD's website, a 'small' is listed as 2-3", a 'medium' is 4-5" , and a 'large' is 6-7". The base price is $25 for a small size, plus and extra $9 for a medium size.

Thank you for the information. The measurements of the fish do not include the tail portion. If you feel the fish you recieved was smaller than you requested can you please send us a picture of the fish with something to reference the size to such as a ruler, soda can, yard stick, cigarette box etc. We feed our smaller fish cut up raw shrimp, krill and frozen mysis shrimp. If you have any additional questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Obviously, the puffer will be much smaller if the tail portion is not included. I tried taking his picture, but he seems to be camera shy. Also, I don't like very much putting "soda cans, cigarette boxes ..." in my tank.

Is there anything else you can do for me?
 
Well you can try to tape a ruler to the front of your tank and offer your puffer food on a stick and direct it to the ruler and have a freind or someone take a picture of it. That's the best thing I can think of. I've bought from MD and I have always been happy but I haven't been daring to try the live stuff yet. Good Luck!!!

We will be happy to credit you or send you the correct size fish if you did not receive what you ordered. We do require a picture to compare the size you got and to be able to correct the matter. I would suggest taping something to the outside of the aquarium for us to be able to guage the size. We do not suggest putting anything in your tank as it is not necessary. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thanks for the reply. I am okay with the fish that I received, a credit for the difference will be just fine. I will try to snap a picture of him and send it to you soon.
 
I want to thank the staff (especially Henry C.) at Marine Depot for promptly correcting their mistakes. This is a true sign of a reputable company!

After sending a picture of my Stars & Stripes Puffer, Henry quickly sent me an e-mail aplogizing for shipping the wrong size fish & crediting my credit card the difference.
