Problem with multicontroller in night mode

Hi there,

I just bought a used multicontroller 7095 and there seems to be something wrong with the night mode. It does recognize the lights going out, but channel one is ramped up to a constant 100% were as channel 2 cuts back to the correct 30%. I can manually turn it down to 30% but that's no good for obvious reasons.

Has anyone seen this happen before?

What you describe may be normal, night mode switches the pumps to whatever the lower speed knobs are set to, so if you have the bottom speed knob at 100% on a channel, that will be night mode.

Hmmm I seems that I might have had the min. set to max and vice versa. So that is good.

Also, using the night mode, the full flow will only be on during the 8 hours of lighting I have (HQI only, no supp.) - ambient room lighting isn't enough to tricker the day mode in my case. Does this sound right to you? Wouldn't it be more benificial to have maximum flow for a longer period than 1/3 of the day when the light is on?

You may want to leave night mode at 100%, the pulsing has stopped so the "sea" is still calmer than day, but this way the flow is high enough to avoid the pH drop.

That is how I do it as at night the pH tends to fall and if you raise the flow a bit you can reduce the pH fall.
