Hi,
We recently bought some green mushrooms (not sure what species it is), acclimated, and placed them in a fairly new set up tank (2 months old; 300 Gallons). Chemical parameters are in the acceptable ranges. We have clownfishes and a cleaner shrimp. The inhabitants seem doing fine, but the mushrooms look really bad. The shrooms have been expelling nematocysts out, not only from the mouth openning, but the periphery areas, which made the texture of the shrooms look like they are having blisters.
From my previous experience with shrooms, I only saw the shrooms expelled zooxanthellae out, when they are stressed, not the nematocyst. The only problem that I can figure out is that the temperature in the tank is extremely high (29 C). However, I might be missing the obvious. So, if anyone can suggest us anything, we would really appreciate. The pics of the shrooms is posted below.
Thanks,
