alright so I dont have my camera at the moment but on my weso there is this little hole in the skeleton and in that hole there is a little hand thing that comes out and looks to grab food and what not. I am not sure what it is but if anyone else has had something similar please chime in. I dont think it is a pest but I could be wrong. at times it also lets out this huge string and pulls it back quickly almost like it is fishing. really cool but not on my weso.
any advice/ideas

The web thing makes me think it's a Vermetid Snail. Is it just a hole where the hand comes out or is it a tube? If it's a hole with a hand, it could be a barnacle.

FYI: Barnacles can extend it's penis up to 30 times the length of its body. Barnacles are sessile and unable to move from their settled location. In order to overcome this motility problem, the barnacle can extend it penis to any near neighbour in order to impregnate them with it's sperm.

I also have some friends that fit this description.

Sounds like a barnacle to me. Can't be sure without a picture. One of the first corals I ever purchased was a "weso", actually Tracyphyllia radiata formerly Welsophyllia.
The Welsophyllia genus has been eliminated since 1987.

Anyway, After watching the coral for awhile I noticed the barnacle. It had translucent projections which looked like some part of the coral skelton , like a hand with long slender fingers, to my newbee eye. I rushed back to the lfs with the coral in a bucket repleter with a portable airpump and bubbles.. I got the stangest look from Joe at SWP who assured me the coral was fine. I didn't believe him but took it home anyway. That coral lived for 6 years until my Hippo tang developed a taste for it.

its a barnacle has to be, you hit it right on the nail tom, and the whole penis thing, that is just weird, but i guess nature will always find a way :)
