Problem with Osmolator

lobsterotomy

I'd frag it.
I started having trouble with my osmolator (about 2 - 3 years old, never got wet, never had any problems) a few weeks ago - the sensors both seem to work fine, all the appropriate LEDs light up, but the pump would intermittently stop working.

I thought I had burned out the pump, so I got another Osmolator from a friend, and used their pump to no avail. I then switched out the controller unit, and I am still getting the same problem.

There's current going to the pumps (when I touch the wires together they spark), and I know there's some getting to the pumps (I can hear clicking as I touch the wires together, indicating something's moving in there).

I tried moving the head unit to a different outlet, then to a different circuit and area of my house in case there was something else going on.

Any helpful suggestions?

Sorry for the late reply, I don't seem to be getting an email about every post.

The sparking doesn't necesarily mean anything, the power supplies can fail so they produce low voltage AC and not DC, the key will be to have some sort of voltmeter. The pumps only last a couple years in general so I would lean toward the issue being the pump. I would check the output of the power supply with a voltemeter and check the output to the pump with a voltmeter, make sure the screw terminals for the pump are free of corrosion and replace them if they aren't.
