Problem with osmolator

I have recently moved and now that I have everything hooked back up, I am having trouble with the osmolator. It works correctly until the preset water level has been met. Then it turns off but continues to run water. The pump has stopped but a syphon is created and won't stop until I physically remove the pump from the water. Is this supposed to happen? I have the pump filling a calc reactor and then the water flows down about 4 feet into the sump.

The optimum condition is to run the effluent up into the tank w/ the tubing above the water surface.

Another option is to run it to the sump w/ a vacuum break as long as the calk reactor is below the top of the tubing end so that there is no siphon.

Is there any possible way to have the osmolator higher? My sump sits on the ground and my water supply is above it.

The sensors go in the sump- but you run the hose up to the aquarium to top off, that is all you have to do. That is how they are supposed to be set up, gravity is fool proof, check valves fail, that is why we do it this way.
