Mi xenias are starting to ivade my aquarium, i have read that if you cut them they will grow again if you left a pice of their body.

my question is, wath can i do to remove them 100% from the places that i dont want them to keep on growing??

tks,

Cut them as close to the rock as you can, and then take a wire brush to the leftover tissue. You might want to do a small water change right after for good measure. Try and siphon out any of leftovers that might be floating/lying around. Running some carbon wouldn't be a bad idea either.

it is starting to be a problem, i only have 2 small xenias looking for a place to keep growing, the other xenias are were i whant them to be, but i see that if i dont act now it is goin to be a huge problem.

What im goin to do is to take te rock out of the water and cut them as close to the rock as i can, an the restovers im goin to brush it. and im thincking of taking out the xenias and trade it for some oter coral.

What do you think?? could it work??

tks,

do it now and remove them before they get a real foot hold. if i were you and you have the ability like you said to take the rocks out, I'd try to cut out the rock that was under the xenia with a hammer and a screw driver or chisel so to not leave any behind..

Yesterday i did it! if you use your nails and be pacient you can remove them, i think i did it 100% of the xenias body.

it is like a glued pice of gum, you just have to peel it from the base!!

i will give it some day soo i can see if someting starts to grow, but i think i did iT!!
