Problem with sinularia

Hi,
Can you tell me, what is wrong with this frag? I have made it few months ago, but it don't grow and I don't now why. Other softies (xenia, kenya tree etc.) are growning very well.

Light - 2x39W 6500K & actinic
NO3- - 2ppm
PO43- 0,08 ppm

I'd step up the flow around it if you can. They can take it. I don't think the nitrate and phosphate have anything to do with it. Could also be the lights though. Two 39 watt bulbs over a 30 gallon tank doesn't sound like much. Maybe try moving it up in the tank also.

If sinularia yours may be bleached, they are generally green in coloration. Flow recommendation, also.

I have read they like high phosphates for fast growth. FWIW

sinularias come in a wide range of colors and shapes between individual species, colonies and even lighting and flow. Some can be pink, green, shades of brown and even shades of golds and yellows. This frag does not look bleached, I would definutly say it is stressed a bit. Most of my sinularias will look like this after being fraged. Most of the time the only reason they stay looking like yours is becuse of either poor water quality or not enough light.

I honestly wouldn't worry too much about the frag, I would leave it alone, check all your tank paramiters and let the coral do its thing. If your tank is healthy the coral will fine and it should polyp out on its own in time. In my experiance the biggest killer for softies is stress from trying to chsnge somthing every time somthing wrong comes up. Sinularias are knows to close up for a few days to a week or so during a sloughing period when they shed. Some of Mine usualy look like yours after doing a large water change and a few days later they shed. Good luck with this coral.
