Problem with stream 6100

I cleaned my 6100 the other day and when I restarted it, it doesn't pump as much water anymore. The prop turns, but it is barely moving any water at all, a maxijet moves more water than this right now. I took everything apart again and put it all back together and it still is weak. The red o ring is installed, then the upper bearing, and then the impellar. I don't have a controller and the adjustment on the driver is turned up all the way. The driver and transformer get really hot now when I plug it in after a very short time period. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I'm using this as my main source of water movement because I just moved and everything is being held in a rubbermaid stock tank for now, so I really need to get this figured out soon.

Thanks for the help,
Joe

Maybe the brakes are not engaging the drive shaft? See if the shaft will spin 360 when you hold the magnet. Did you use a strong acid, like muriatic? That could swell the plastic and increase the friction.

The magnet spins about 180 degrees and then engages the brakes. I used diluted vinegar to clean it just like I have in the past. This is really baffling me. The magnet spins pretty easily in the motor, it doesn't seem to be more friction than before.

Roger, thanks so much for the help in taking care of my problem. There aren't many companies that are able to get a package, fix it, and send it out all in one day. Tunze definitely has some of the best customer service in the business!
