problem with wavebox

Yesterday I noticed it wasn't working. I unplugged it and today disassembled it and cleaned it out. There were no issues with the pump and everything looked good aside from some valonia growing in the box itself.

I put it back together and plugged it in. There is power to the 6061 wave controller (lights are on etc). And the silver driver box makes a little noise that coincides with the lights, so its getting power. But the pump itself doesn't do anything. I've taken apart the pump and cleaned it, there aren't any deposits or anything inhibiting it from working.

Any other suggestions or do I need a new motor block? Sadly it is not under warranty anymore.

Look like the driver is fried. I know Roger take good care of Tunze customer. Send him a PM on Monday to see what he can do...

You would need to contact Tunze Canada but I disagree with Steve's diagnosis. Typically a bad driver does not alarm and will not send power to a controller. What you describe is more consistent with a pump that is dirty or jammed, it could have some calcium build up, especially on the upper bearing. See the stickied post on cleaning pumps and driver alarms at the top of this forum. If that is not it, you will need a replacement motor block 6260.015 most likely.

Yes I saw that post, I have disassembled the pump as depicted, there was no buildup or anything, it was as clean as a whistle for the most part.

I'll contact Tunze Canada about parts replacement.

Thanks
Christy :)
