Process of setting up large tank (180G - Not HUGE, but...)

So, I have a few questions as I get closer to setting my tank up (180G).

I am going to use live sand (it is what I have, and what I have used and had good success with).

I have had my BRS Pukani rock cycling since November.

I don't have a way to mix ~ 240G of salt water outside of the tank.

So, now my question is, do I fill tank with RODI, mix the salt in the tank, and after it is mixed and ready, pour the sand in through the water, and scape my tank at that time? I am obviously trying to avoid the rock drying out, and I don't know another way to do this.

Can anyone help?

On my current 300, I mixed the water and salt in the tank, waited a day, added the rock, waited a day, then filled in the sand. Worked out for me. Why would your rock dry out? I had mine sitting on my kitchen floor while I scaped so I could use the perfect piece in every spot. My tank barely cycled, it was hardly even noticeable. Still going strong!

Ok, that's perfect and exactly how I am thinking of doing it.

I should have elaborated... by rock drying out I just meant that the rock is sitting in a bin large enough to mix the salt water I need.

I just hung the line from my RO/DO over the side with a float valve and let it run until it was full, added the salt , and blew it around with power heads.
