Hello

I did my first dose on 04-01-2006 of Biogest 1 vial and 2 vials of Biotipm

I did my first dose of Reef Booster on 04-02-2006

I had a increase in the green algae film on the back of my tank . So I will stop dosing the Reef Booster for the next 4 weeks

Just to update

My update was posted elsewhere over the past couple of days. Here's a quick copy n paste:

Observation - Day 7
I dosed a few vials of Prodibio seven days ago. The water is quite clear. The algae that grows on the glass was 'thin', enough of an eye sore that I used a cleaning magnet to scrub it off. It was a little harder to remove than usual, but I don't think I've cleaned the glass in a week.

Coral-wise, the livestock looks good and even areas that Tucker has chewed up are regrowing tissue. Some nuisance algae that was growing on one Scripps acro is now receeding, to maybe 25% of what it was. Other corals look good to me. The fish seem the same. No diatoms on the sand; it looks clean. The skimmer isn't pulling out as much skimmate as it has in the past.

No further dosing is required until a week from tomorrow according to my spreadsheet.

I dosed the biodigest, bioptin and reefbooster yesterday. The reefbooster really clouded the tank for hours and then had microbubbles after that.

Today the tank is more crystal clear than I have ever seen it.

I just uploaded current pics (as of today) before starting.

Loaded dosing schedule in Outlook.

Outlook??? I never thought of that. I was worried about remebering the dosing times and quanities. Man you guys are ahead of me. I have the Stuff but I have yet to start dosing

went very well. was either one weird coincidence or my tree leather LOVES what it did because for a while now it's seemed droopy and today it was as extended as it could get. form what i've seen of his behavior it seems things are going in the right direction

Zanclus,
I saw your post over at Rob's Reef and I was wondering did you decide to start dosing? I think he mentioned that the BioDigest would be ok to start from the beginning. I am just curious to see how this stuff works if you start the tank with it.

I am going to start my dosing Next week sometime so I wil let you all know how the first day goes. From what Fat-Tony says I am excited.

I thought I saw you on Rob's Reef. Remember to keep it a secret. Floridians already have an unfair advantage with there cheap prices and abundant livestock. We need to level the field.:D

Keep us posted Andy.

Thanks
Scott

you must be mistaken... we dont have any advantage.....
we get your old people 6 months out of the year. we get all the illegal aliens.... the native language is spanish.... 3 months out of year we might have huricanes..... brake lights mean honk your horn and get out of my way.... turn signal means speed up and cut him off....I have 3 bald tires a flat and an empty radiator I can still do 90 and get where I am going no problem....

fla its got it..... and we want to give it back....

oh and blue haired people need a conditional license you must get to dinner before 4pm so you are off the road for rush hours...

lol

I understand. I lived in Tampa for 18 Years then Orlando for 5. Try driving down I-4 to get to work sometimes...A 30 minute drive can take 3 hours.

I posted a few days ago how my skimmer stoppped pulling anything out. Turns out it was vapor-locked by a small PVC fitting I'd put on top of the air vent pipe. Once removed, it resumed working immediately.

Update:

Tank Parameter changes:

ALK 3.09 was 3.2meq/L (still lowering)
Mg 1420 was 1200
Ozone 370 was 395
NO3 2.0 was 2.5
Vodka dose 3ml was 1ml

Yesterday I dosed one vial each of BioDigest, Biotpim, Stronti and IODI+. I will now wait two weeks for the next Prodibio dosing. I will continue daily dosing of Vodka and will continue to increase.

Tank seems pretty much the same. I see a 'lil cyano. :mad2: I also see some slight color enhancement in certain corals. :D

I am still waiting on the PolypLabs products.

Did ya'll see this thread?

Update: 2 weeks

I dosed Reef Booster on Saturday. It does cloud the water. Check out the pic. I took a sample of water before I dosed and a colormeter showed PO4 at 0.00. After dosing the reading jumped to .01. I didn't do any additional test but I would think the PO4 went back to 0.

Got the Reefesh. I am dosing Genesis and Fuel since Friday. These are daily dosing. The Fuel dosage recommendation was equal to what I was dosing Vodka so I now use that amount, 1/2 Fuel, 1/2 Vodka.

Today I saw the first Bac film on my front glass. A very thin white film. I think this is a good sign but I am going to halve my dosage tomorrow, one at lights on and then do a check at mid-day and see how things look.

I am seeing better color. The montis are lightening quite a bit. One bleached but it should recover. I think the better colors may be visable in pics and will post if they do.

I'll be back. :)

OK, I'm in.

Thanks foryour help on this Kirsten. After much reading, I decided to go with the live bacteria by Prodibio. I was reading about the ReFresh system and was not a fan of their dormant bacteria. Plus, I like the idea of single dose vials, nothing to spoil.

I ordered 30amps of Bio Clean (15 BioDigest and 15 BioTim) and 6 amps of Startup (3 BioDigest and 3 Stop Ammo)

I decided to use Salifert's All-in-One (this stuff rocks!!!), Natural Iodine, and Coralline AminoAcids for the other supplements. I will also dose Vodka.

I am changing over from an 80 gallon (mostly softy) to a 110tall mostly sps or mixed.

On another note, do mixed reefs do well with the Prodibio system?
