I am looking to data log my motor pumps current or any other equipment plugged into a Digital 6 socket power bar.

By logging the current of a motor, you can see when a pump is going to fail or needs cleaning before you have the problem.

Once you have the Amps logged, you will get other useful information.

Voltage x Amps = Watts.

You also will have kilowatt meter which could tell you how much Electricity your are using.
You could also let the user input their current rates in the area they live in, so they know how much it cost to run that device.

Possibilities are endless with a device like this.

Look out for this sort of functionality in the PIII when it comes out.

GHL have now put together a technical team to bring the PIII out so look out for more info in the coming months.

This is really do-able, though it will cost you. We run large electrode steam humidifiers (think of a 5 gallon bucket with 3 phase 480V inside!) at work with current transformers soldered right on the control card. They are maybe 1" diameter, and read up to 80A @480V.

These could be soldered right to the board inside the digital bar, but it would get expensive quick. Definitely a nice thing to have though.

Another product which would be good is an analog input card. This way you could add your own various devices (like a CT for amperage, above) and still have it "talk" to the Profi.

luisagos,
Spent 5 yrs in various WWTPs. People dont realize how complicated and fragile the proccesses are.

Aye, adding this to digital bar would not be hard, but like you said you would also need to read the voltage off the coils, analog input card.

The cool thing, you could set amp limits for each outlet. For example;

Have Profllux monitor the current for outlet 1 and have user setting of 2 amps with 2s delay for motor ramp up time.

Like I said before, Possibilities are endless.

Aye we are now installing a new PLC system at WWTP (Waste Water Treatment Plant). We are running a new 4000 ft of 12 stand fiber optic for Network for the New Siemen PLC.

You would think I am getting enough at work, now i want in inside my house, lol.
