If I bought a Profilux II Light to contol and dim 2 LED drivers, would I need to buy anything else to make it work? What exactly is included in the purchase of the Profilux II Light Bar?
You get the ProfiLux II light bar in your purchase, it is a stand alone unit, so if you want to hook it to your pc you would also need the RS232 cable.
If you want to control LED drivers you would also require the EVG PCB for interfacing, this is a non expensive interface that provides you with the ability to also isolate the 110V line when the LED's are in off state.
If you are looking for a bit more than just LED control then I would suggest the profiLux plus II beginner pack. A lot more bang for your buck and can be upgraded at any time to the powerful profiLux 3 if you ever so chose to.
Thanks for the reply, but wouldn't the outlets on the bar turn off the LED Drivers? Does the Profilux II Light come with a CD for programing on my computer?
If you program them to coincide with 0% of the lights then yes, but you still need an interface between the profilux and the driver, you can get the basic interface for a few dollars but you are losing functionality.
99% of DIY builders use ProfiLux due to its functionality and out of that I would say 98% use the EVG cards
The software is online as it is forever changing if you go to our website and then GHL it will take you to the download page.
The light II is not expandable but you can connect the interfaces required to give access to the 1-10V ports
The LBF-AP is simply a wiring interface it comes with the correct lead to plug into the 1-10V ports on the profilux and a neat wiring block in a plastic housing.
OK, here is my need. I will have 2 LED drivers that would be dimmable independantly and 1 driver for moon lights. How many EVG-AP-2's and how many LBF-AP's would I need. If I got your moon lights instead of a 3rd driver
would I need anything else?
Do the drivers plug into the EVG or are they wired in.
If the drivers don't plug into the light bar are the the 4 outlets still available for a heater
and chiller. Will the Profilux II Light control the heater and chiller? How are your LED moon lights connected, do they use a 0-10V outlet? I'm asking all these questions so if I proceed with this purchase I will have all I need.
If the drivers are wired into the card where does it get the 110V? the picture looks like the cable plugs into the 0-10V. Does the card plug into the outlet? And does the -2 at the end of EVG-AP-2 mean there are 2 dimming cables for two drivers?
The power is supplied by a fly lead (not supplied you can buy them at the hardware store) into the 110V connectors on the EVG card, you then wire the 110V line from the opposing connectors on the EVG card to the drivers.
The 110V fly lead plugs into any wall receptical.
The 1-10V line using the supplied cord plugs into the Light II and then is hard wired using the supplied wiring diagram into the EVG 1-10V input connetor strip.
The relays on the card react to 0VDC status and switch off the power to the drivers
Morning Ottawa, it's me again.
So, if I got the Profilux II light, 2 EVG-AP-2F, 4 fly lead plugs, 1 Temp. prob. and the RS232 cable. I would have a plug and play set up, other than programing and wiring the fly leads, for 4 independently controllable LED drivers and heat/cooling. Correct?
If your pc does not have an RS232 port then you would need an RS232-USB adapter from somewhere like radio shack who would probably sell you the 110V fly leads also
Thanks for all the info Ottawa.
One last question. Your Moon Light #PL-0366 is only a moon light, correct, not like
#PL-0255? Is the 366 dimmable and what is the cost?
