OH. some of you I told about the manifold I made. Here it is withteh CA reactor hooked up.

Here are some photos of the new Manifold I made this weekend. it has 3 x 1/2" outlets for use. the left one drives my UV, the center is split to drive the CA reactor and the Coil Denitrator and the right one is for future use but will most likely drive a carbon reactor that is in the works. lastly is a full shot of that area. the CA reactor in online but I dont have my media in it yet. I wanted to tweak it before adding the media and the co2 to it.

Also, My timer for my Halides went out this weekend. so I gotta get a new one.

Nice, Do you run the UV full time? Or just when you have a reason too? They do not discriminate in what they kill (Good or Bad)
You need some OJ for that sample bottle LOL
Bill

HAHA! Yea bill. I know. I dont drink Vodka so that is all of it I had. now if we dosed beer in our tanks, that would be a fight between me and the fish! LOL. the UV runs all the time. it is only a 9 watt so it is way undersized for the tank. so long as it reduces the growth on the glass, im happy. I plan on getting a new one this spring when I go to a few hardware shows so at that time ill re-evaluate the use of it.

On a side note, I was impressed at the ammt of pressure in my system. I really had to crank down the knobs on the CA reactor so it would not leak. I also had to put upgraded valves on the Denitrator coil because that little needle valve would just not cut it. I can shoot a stream out of that low pressure tubing across the sump!

I still have to replace that temp mount for the manifold. it is held up by a piece of 12/2 romex!

Nice Lindsey I made the same thing to day. Till I drilled a 55 to make it to a sump and then BUST it was tempered glass on the back which I did the test too. but some how I got the back and front mixed up.:(

Zef, that STINKS> should have marked it when you tested it. I hate those Tempered tanks. my old 75 was bottom tempered. is this sump under your stand? why dont you just use that sump tht came with the tank! LOL!!! it was pretty narsty..

Thanks Anthony....It works really well. I found my hose adapter to use with the Carbon, but I need new carbon to put it in.

lol nasty is under statement. anyways dont have room for a sump that big. Need something that will fit under the stand. I may just take the sump off my 135 when i move all the live stock in to the 180. and in dec Ill be going to Dallas Texas and try to pickkup a melev sump when im there.

a very very good friend of mine tossed a few frags my way.

Scroll I cannot wait to see the neon yellow polyps this one has

There was also a Gigantic digi that came in as well, but it was still very slimed up so I didnt get a good pic.

bart, I made it. It is basicaly just a cap that I drilled and then threaded for the fitting to fit into. I used a brass fitting to tap it and then screwed the plastic fitting into it. did the same for the fitting for my CA reactor probe holder.

Well, I didn't know you couldn't glue them... but I suppose that makes sense. Had already figured out you couldn't use the putty on them. How do you attach them with sting or fishing line? Then next time I can do it properly! I have some more I'd like to frag (toadstool leather and a cabage leather), and wouldn't want them to come off the rock or plug.

But I suppose that explains why the green mushroom that we got on the group buy from Reefs2Go took a swan dive off the ledge and hasn't been seen since! I glued it a small piece of rubble.

Just put the leather in a hole or indention in the rock and tie it in with line. Some people sew them to rocks also. Hope this helps!

Thanks guys. if I ever find that thing again, ill try to tie it down. Got another tank task accomplished today. Got the auto top off in place and the water reservoir installed. I dont have a photo of it in place, but it is at the end of hte workbench about 12 foot from the sump. I wanted it closer but coudl not get it under the workbench. anyways here is my $5 auto top off.

1. a switch from a junk pellet stove at work. this tells the circuitry that the lid is open and stops the auger from turning. it is a 120 v switch so it is PERFECT.
CIMG1362.jpg

2. a baby bulb syringe that we have had for years that was getting nasty. donated by the wife. I cut the tip off a bit so it would fit on item 3.
CIMG1363.jpg

3. a green plastic garden stake cut to length.
CIMG1364.jpg

I ziptied the stock to the switch and then stuck the bulb syringe on it. instant float just like the old toilet bowl floats (cant find just that piece at HD).

The switch is wired into an aqualifter pump under the workbench then to the reservoir. to ge the tubing all the way to the bottom, I drilled a hole in a pvc elbow and stuck it in there. worked like a charm!

Gravity was my enemy once I had it wet because when the pump shut off, the water continued to flow. so I rigged it up temporarily to the top of the workbench which is about 2" above the top of the water tank. teh upright piece of pvc is just to contain the falling stream of water.

all in all it works like a charm!
