Project 130g

Dude, you should use some aqua mags and put some capriconis (?) sps on those overflow boxes - make them blend in even more! Once again, that LOOKS awesome... have you given any thought to trying to simulate a certain biotope (keeping species native to a certain area) as closely as possible? Like maybe try a lagoon or something? It was something I thought about while watching my 110 fill up :)
I'd like to see your tank's plumbing in person - I can never follow what people are doing without pics or being there; it's definitely one aspect of this hobby I wish I knew more about (aside from water goes down thanks to gravity).

Steve, you'll have to swing by sometime if you have a chance and check it out. I can take some pics in person after its all cleaned up once again. I finished filling it this morning, and went ahead and got the salt all in, water finished clearing when i got home tonight, then i added all the live sand. And it sucks now becuase the tank is completely foggy :( Also i'm adding more water to fill up all the baffles and the return area of the sump, then i'll fire this bad boy up hopefully tonight.

I tried putting the mag7 impeller in the mag 5 i have, and it was soooooo noisy. i really should just splurge and get a pump i'll be happy with... any recommendations? Remember, i'm a poor college student on a very limited budget with a baby on the way! :D

I had a CHEAP ($50?) rio 2500 that worked fine for 3 years before it started having some slight (but noticeable) heating issues. 3/4" vinyl tubing slipped over its output and over the scwd's imput perfectly! It pumped well when it was at like 2ft head and had a scwd connected to spraybars. This was in a 55g display and 30 gallon behind tank sump. Maybe an external (BIG) pump is where to look? Another thing to consider is how much flow your overflow boxes can take and the size of piping running down to your sump/fuge... i guess it's best not to have too much pump and not enough overflow???

i can do roughly 600gph out of each overflow. i have 1" piping running down to the sump x2, so i can handle 1200gph-ish @ about 3 ft.
