Ok I have a large rock, picture 9" x 5" covered in zoas. How do I break this rock apart without doing too much damage to my colony?
thanks

If you have a dremel with diamond bit go with that and cut between polyps as much as possible. If you don't have a dremel. grab a hammer with the a flat screw driver place it in between the polyps and chisel chunks off

+1, both methods work really well for home propogation. Just make sure to break the zoas on a hard surface like concrete.

Cut that matt with a razor blade in the spot you plan on fraging first. Then go at it with the screw driver or dremel. This will eliminate the mat from ripping and or squashing a bunch of zoas as the mat gets pushed through from the screw driver tip or ripped from the dremel.
