ok well i want to give it a shot
i have a 140 tub that i plan to stock with all sorts of NPS ( mostly gorgonians)

the tank will be set up like a raceway system with a pump makig hte water go around and around at a decent rate
tank will have phyto and rotifer reactors set up to drip into the tnak as well as a skimmer

this tnak will obviusly have a very poor waterquality ( compared to sps tank next to it. )
and i am considering importing DOM and bactiria by using tiny portions of the sps tanks skimmate into this tnak

any opinions or suggestions

i took up this intrest after i found that my blue berry gorgonian frag had grown almost an inch ( was a 1 inch frag)
this frag fell out of the eggcrate and and settled into the sludge on the bottom of the tank ( frag tank. low flow atm and lots of stuff settling.. this is a zoo tank that is bein replaced by a larger zoo tank thus freeing the tub)

i was sure it was dead but i found it today

that actually sounds like just the conditions they thrive in!
If you're ever doing sponges or NPS that grow similiarly, I was thinking about putting dark cloth over eggcrate in the sump and letting larvae settle out down there and they could be used as biological filters as well!

Please post as much details as possible about what you are doing in your tank, so we could try to do the same for our tanks.

on hold for a lil. still moving stock out of the one tank an into another. also probobly going to use a 75 g instead of the 140 since ht 140 is already set for softies :)
