Whats are those aptasias called .The're green with red tips.I've been killing them with vinegar and a seringe by inj. into the center. But dont know the proper name of this pest. Are there any fish that will eat them ,like the copper banded butterfly eats the regular clear onse.Thanx

The could be majano anemones, rock anemones, or ball anemones... but without a pic it's kind of hard to guess. A google image search may help out.

I think they are tulip anenome. I have TONS. I thought they were a good coral so I let them multiply but I just read some posts from a few weeks ago that said they were pests.

I don't know the name but has your PH dropped?
I have a system that has a total of 300gals between tank and fuge . So it really does not change the PH

Cool, I figured you had that covered but thought I would ask just in case. Good luck with the infestation.

I had them in both of my tanks and I got a couple peppermint shrimp and they ate them up in a few days. They have worked great for me!

Hope this helps

Ill invest $ in some peppermint shrimp, why not? Last time I had cuts on my hands and moved zoas around and a couple of things out of the way to get to the back of the tank.Sure enough I messed with those zoas in the process and got poisond like heck ,throwing up all night eventually blood towards the mornin. Like I stated before I was messing with them for 3-4 hrs.Them things are the woste pests I ever encountered. And just think ,about 4-5 yrs ago this guy sold them to me and this other kid from Independence they were attached to a rock which we split to get an even share of those nice looking red tipped green anenomes
