Prospective Tunze Purchase

Hello,

I'm wondering whether two of the Tunze Turbelle Stream 2 6125 pumps will provide enough flow for a 150 gallon SPS-only tank. The tank's dimensions are 60 x 24 x 25.

Also, I'll be using the Caribsea Seaflor Special Grade sand (1.25-1.95mm in diameter). Will these pumps cause a problem with this type of sand?

Thanks in advance

Rick

Keep in mind the 6125 are not controllable, they are just a constant on pump and cannot be used on a wavemaker. If that will work for you that will be enough flow and you can angle the pumps upward and should be able to avoid any major movement of the sand.

I can vouch for the upward pointing pumps.... I forgot to plug in the control cables into my pumps and I had snails looking for a tide pool to hide in.... three actually found their way to the carpet to get out of the tsunami.

Now to go fix the sandbed (just thankful it's pretty new)

I would get the controllable model. worth the extra money. The new Tunze and magnet are great. you can angle them away from the sand to prevent sand storms.
