When you drain your cup do you wash it out and clean it down. I was told that any build up in the cup and the tube leading up cuts down on your skimming. So should you always clean it and by clean it I mean with a scrubber so its as good as new?
mother in laws tooth brush works the best and gives a feeling of enjoyment.
i useally rinse and get a paper towel adn wipe out under running
water since i have heard using your hands will get oil in the riser tube and it wont skim as well . just what i have heard though
if you did use a brush might dedicate one just for it and not do what i did and use the kitchen sink brush (caught some flack for that one)

ive been tempted to make me a bucket of vinegar to rinse after i clean mine to take the oil off(inside the riser tube). and just seal the lid on the bucket when im done.
but to answer your question my skimmer definately skims better when clean
Cleaner skimmer = better capacity to pick up dirty stuff.
Mother in laws toothbrush,,,,,LOL ,,, good one.
Did use the wifes toothbrush by accident one day. Inside of the doghouse is pretty nice. Needs new carpet tho.

i went to shell island yesterday and got a huge yellow starfish i have no idea what it is and a cool lil octopus. i am waiting to go home and have it in my dogs mouth one day or crawling across the floor ..
the bad thing is i accually did use the M.I.L toothbrush lol
LOL yea dog houses are a lil cramped but at least you get to sit and think about what you did and why you should do it again and not get caught
Hi o2zen,
Yeah, I power spray mine first and then use a paper towel. If it's really nasty I get the trusty tooth brush and really get in to do a deep cleaning - about once or twice a month.
