Okay, I'm working on a deal to get a new skimmer. I'm looking at this octo. Is it okay to over skim? I'm hoping to tie other tanks in to the sump later. I'm looking for alternatives in this price range if you think something else would be better. ASM G-5 looks good too.

Octopus DDNW-250 Recirculating
Protein Skimmer 10" dia.
Two Pumps*
$599.95

Thanks for your help.

You could always take one of the pumps off the skimmer if you feel your not going to need it, or you could just block the air in take on one pump. I know when I bought mine I bought far over what I needed, but like you I was semi planning for the future. I would say go for it, I know serveral people with the octo skimmers and they all like them alot....hth Jason

Kevin try Aquacave for that skimmer, the service is phenomenal.

You will not be disappointed in that model.

I just talked my company into ordering an octopus skimmer from aquacave. They ordered on Wednesday and it showed up on friday (ground shipping).

Unbelievable service from there.
