Protein Skimmers

I have a 220 gallon reef tank. I would like to upgrade my skimmer. The skimmer section of my sump is 11" x 11". The Bubbbleking mini 160 would fit but is not rated for a 220 gallon tank. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That is a small size skimmer section for such a big tank. Could you go with an external skimmer, as that would really increase your range of options.

I will if there is no other option. The sump is approximately 40 gallons with a refugium section in the middle.

A good external skimmer or a bigger sump is in order. For a 220g tank a 75g sump should be the normal size.
