I have a prism on a 29 gallon which pulls almost nothing out of the tank. If i get a better skimmer will it pull out more. And will it help rid some of the Red slim algea

A better skimmer will help take out the excess nutrients which contribute to the red slime (cyanobacteria).

best get red slime remover... works great and try and keep the water as clean as possible.. small weekly water changes is best.

k thanks im doing 5 gallons a week. Will red slme take it away quick and doesnt it prevent it from coming back

The red slime removers are usually antibiotics or oxidizers. If there's an underlying problem, the cyanobacteria will return.

A better skimmer might help, but there's no objective data on them, so we all have to guess about which ones are best. You could try some ideas from this article:

It's written in terms of a nitrate problem, but the ideas are all still relevant, IMO.

Hey i got a 29gal tank my self with a remora hot skimmer before i got that i had the prizm and ever since then no slime......But water changes also play a big role in as well as using purified H2O.....Also I used chemi clean it works great.
