Protein skimmers!!!!!!!

Hey reefers,

Ok I ve narrowed protein skimmers down to a couple and I wanna see what you guys think. I have been considering the presision marine redline series 125 the reef octopus extreme 160 and the asm mini G. there all around 250 bucks and under. What any suggestions. I have chosen these because my footprint in my sump is hard to work with so this is what i have come up with. Im running a 72 bow.

the octo because i guess i keep hearing its a really decent skimmer.

i dont have the money so instead am running a remora...but looking to upgrade it.

but in any case ive heard alot of people say the octo is a good skimmer

The bad thing about octopus is they have poor customer support so if something does go wrong with it your pretty much on your own.....

It looks decent, very similar style to the Euroreefs. I would go with the octopus, because of the bubble plate and the new Sicce pumps. My friend just got the Extreme 300, it's a solid piece of equipment.

cool I think this will be a nice setup for me. My LFS guy is trying to sell me the asm mini g series skimmer but it just looks cheap. He assures me that they are awesome skimmers. I know that they are from euroreef but im just very skeptical.

I know someone who got one and they work well. They just don't have certain features that the Octopus does like the bubble plate. Also the octopus looks more compact. Either one would be suitable for your tank IMHO.

Alrighty well the octopus extreme 160 is ordered! I hope it works out well for me. I paid 250 bucks for it. Is that a bad price for an octo?

I know it's too late, but the ASM line is very good! My local LFS guty also stated the same, and I surprised. I was running a
Coralife, and this thing runs circles around it. Very dense bubbles, and lots of them.

To be fair, the coralife is an easy skimmer to surpass =P.
