Got 5 of these beauties today :D
All females, I hope the largest one will become male. They are small, eating and haven't left the rockwork alot. I hope they will all come out tomorrow

anyone else have these?
btw, pics do not do them justice, they are drop dead gorgeous irl

They are gorgeous! I tried a trio a while back, but they were so small, and just never came out of the rockwork with my other larger anthias around :(

Stunning. Where, may I ask, did you find them?

Well I live in Belgium, I found them at one of my lfs who always have the best quality fish. They also had a tiny achilles and a gorgeous conspiccilatus angel. But I can't afford the angel and I already have an achilles...

These are a beautiful species... and they stay relatively small... I am done with large anthias in all of my systems... I have a few of these in a mixed species group in my coolwater tank... here's two shots, one showing the smithvanizi and the other the gang...

Stefani, could you find out where yours were imported from perhaps? Mine came from the Marshalls, but I'm curious if Europe may be importing from somewhere else. May I ask the European retail on them?

Thanks,

Copps

gorgeous smithvanizi!

copps, i did not know smithvanizi come from the marshalls too.

the ones that come in my country are always from the philippines..

Very nice fish! I know it is a species I would like to try in the future. Any tips? I assume the usual nice long quiet qt for them.

I'll ask were they came from. What do you mean by retail?
They came from reeffishcenter, they import from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bali, Filippines, Hawaii and the Carribean.

I don't QT. I have full trust in my lfs, who QT's them and makes shure they eat before they are sold.

Amazing fish! Been a long time since I can remember seeing any for sale. Please keep us posted on how they do.

Stunning. These are on my anthias to keep list. Do smithvanizi require cooler temperatures? If so, what temperature is recommended?

Hellow, i'm the friend of stefania and want to give you guys a small update on the smithvanizi.
First i bought 5 fishes. I added another 5 a week later. Now there are 7or8 remaining. 6 of them swim together and one of them is becoming a male.

The other 2 smithvanizi haven't found de rest of the anthias' yet. Tomorrow i'm adding another anthias. There was one remaining in the shop and we couldn't find him last time. it's sad for the fish to stay alone in the shop:sad2::fun2:

The first weeks the smithvanizi were always in the rocks. Only when you feed them they came out. The last weeks i see the fishes more often. (Since there's a male)

These are beautiful fishes and i'm so glad with them.
I hope i keep a larger school in my tank. I love anthias sooo much!
