PSXerholic's 210 New Reef build

Check and smoke for the beauty.
Also the garage needed a clean up.

Looks already impressive.

Pictures from the inside. I will mix some glue and sawdust later to fillup the holes.

Another close up.
The bottom of the frame will hang over a bit. This is desired since this section will become like a trunk cover, that will have to be self positioned when I will closed the front.

Started a lil bit on the tank and bulkheads.
Cleaning the glass with water vinegar mix.

By the way, this is the correct way to install the bulkheads into the tank.
There is no better tool than a pipe and fitting.

Have another fitting screwed in by hand to avoid turning of the bulkhead while fastening the washernut.

The bulkheads I use.
Washer Oring with double lid and a washernut.

New material arrived. The canopy can be continued.

Get an idea of the required dimensions, using a strip.

Next thing is to come up with the gap required and the joint within the Canopy.
Here some collision reviews I did by using different locations and gap dimensions.

Then the edgie strip comes into the play. All only temporary.

Get the length measured.

I think that will work.

Hmmmm.

Principle is the same as before.

Awesome work. That stand looks amazing.

THX Man.....

It's mostly inspired (translation for stolen) by the typical DIY stand that most people do, just a bit different.

THX to everyone at Reefcentral who posted their builts!!!!

This Thread is kind of saying thank you and want to give something back to others. Those threads helped me so much to realize my dream tank that is somewhat affordable.

Otherwise I would not do all those efforts here in this post, but I strongly believe a lot of people out there have a plan in mind but they are just hesitated to start.

BUUUUTTTTTTTTTT...... there is a big disadvantage..........the wife will see............she definitive will..............and then she realizes................................................................................................................................that you can do all the closet cabinets probably much cheaper than the expensive craftsmen you can hire.
Then you're screwed....lol

Thats the current gap.
Can still be adjusted.

Special tool being made to clamp pieces of wood in order to get a 90 deg angled cut nicely on a table saw.

Same swood strip design as for the front board.

Glued on

And screwed right after as long the glue is wet.

No bloody idea anymore why I took this picture.

Also I cutted the sides a lil shorter.

Also the other side had to be done.
See the mess. Use always a fresh towel and clean the water occassionally.

Done.
At least this side.
Also I rounded with a sandin mouse the upper lip of the trim.

View from the back inside.

Wide angle view

Pooh, done. Worked long hours that week.....on the Tank of course.

OK, lets continue.
Now the back of the Canopy need some support and mounting points for the Fan's.
Here are some pieces in preparation

Everything prepared for mounting

I started with the top strip/board

Measuring the posties for final length

Using plenty of glue

Top board screwed in

The other side

Then glue for the posties
Using the clamps to keep them in position

Bottom is off centre. Plenty of glue as well.

Done

Since I wasnt sure if that all gonna work, I mounted the sliding element on a separate board in order to have the parts removable for replacement or repair due to potential corrional issues that might come along.

Had to modify the slide and the wood strip.
The beauty is the travel way. It will be in a fixed/blocked position when slided back

All right,
everything is mounted and ready for making now the Cut on the wood frame that the canopy is sitting on.

Lift off the entire Canopy.
I have to take this off now in order to do the Cut.
