PTC are coming...

Hi

finally the ProfiLux Temperature Control (PTC) are produced and tested.

Here is a pic of the 100% burn-in test:

You see the aggregate (heat exchanger) and the power and controller unit.
Each device must go through a one day burn-in test at full load.

This is what puts profiLux MILES above, nothing get released until fully tested and here is the proof of this.

This just compounds the reason why you just NEVER see the word profiLux and "BUG" in the same sentance :)

Thanks Matthias to the insight you have given this forum to your testing and development center. I am sure many members would love to see more photos of your development center, of course keeping the secret stuff out of site naturally :)

Great post!!

yes, I will do something like that

At our new website (still in progress) you will find a "tour" through our factory and development center.

That would be great. I think it is important a company is transparant where users or potential users can see the huge amount of behind the scenes work and also how the profiLux quality comes about.

So many times a product comes to the market where it has been said that lots of pre testing has been done only for it to fail when in the users hands.

I know it sounds like a lot of marketing hot air, but i am actually genuinely proud of the proven quality of ProfiLux and we can offer a product that people can use without worry.

Keep up the good work Matthias.

Very nice. I'm getting more and more intrigued about these.

So are the 'boxes' on the middle two shelfs the power supply's for the 'wet side' of the unit?

You guys all stink! How am I ever going to save up for the house if you keep coming out with new goodies like this! :mad2:

Hi

important hint: You need firmware 4.02 to operate the PTC.

With 4.01 or lower the ProfiLux is only able to control a cooling device via 1-10V (such as the PropellerBreeze), from 4.02 on a mixed operation (cool & heat) is possible.

Thanks Micheal. Link keeps crashing my adobe reader, but I will try back. Other manuals from downloads work, just not Product catalog or flyers in both english and dutch.

Here is a side note, that maybe should be start in another thread, but am looking at the PTC as part of the system. I am looking at a battery backup system to run the minimal at night when I would not be able to run my generator during a power failure. Winter is coming fast. Thought Tunze would of invented it, but, for example only, Vortech has their battery that says it will run up to 30 hours. Don't really see using the Tunze DC converter because I would rather have a battery system that would also keep itself charged when it does have power. Something like a UPS we use for computers. Price really isn't much of an option when it comes down to possible loss of my critters.....Any suggestions? Maybe others would be interested as well or have suggestions.

I dont really know the pricing of UPS but I know there are huge diferences depending on what you want.

canadian outlet homedepot do one that will run your whole house!

The beauty, among many, of the Profilux is that most of my equipment can be in separate random power supplies so I could plug just the Tunze pumps and possibly the PTC into this battery backup and leave return pump, skimmer, and lights (all power hogs) on the powerbar that wouldn't have to be battery backed up.
