I have dove off the big island of PR, but am going to Vieques and Culebra for 2 weeks in July. I hear the diving is fantastic. Does anyone have first hand experience and could give me the lowdown? We were on Vieques in 2006 for 2 days, but there were no dive operators at the time. Now there are 2. TIA.

I know of a gentleman named Lugo who operates a dive operation out of Fajardo, P.R. He certified me ,and when I go to PR I always call him. He is extremely knowledgeable about marine life and lots of fun too !!!!

Culebra is Nice! I'm not certified Scuba diver but I'd like to. I just snorkeled there. Actually I work for the airline that flights to Culebra from San Juan and Fajardo PR :D
I've never been in Vieques tough. Theres also nice beaches in the main island. In Rincon theres an incredible place to dive and all the west side of PR. Good Luck and enjoy your stay here

JerseyK, I have dove out of Fajardo with Lugo in 2005 and 2006. He is a great guy. This trip, we are not staying on the big island. We stayed there 2 weeks in 2006. We are only going to Culebra and Vieques this trip. WhOwantsrice, when are you going and where are you staying on Culebra. July 19 for me and staying at Casa del Sol.

You guys will have a blast. Not much action at night, though. Let me know and I could meet you guys up there and drink beer all day long and look for corals while we're at it.
