puffer food...

What else does everyone feed their puffers? My green spotted puffer likes cerith snails... however the hair algae stuck to my valentini puffers mouth finally came off..and he has buck teeth...I guess this is why it was stuck there...they look way too long...he really loves macrol algae...and mysis shrimp...but these don't help his teeth any...

I read they will eat crab legs and crustations...but I wasn't sure if I should just buy some small live crabs and put in there...or if that meant I should get fresh crab legs and just throw in some of the shell before I cook them?

fiddler crabs, if he is big enough. I can show you where to find them by the hundreds or you can buy them at the bait shop. I also have a large bag of frozen blue crabs you can have. They were given to me and I think they are past their prime for human food

He is about two inches long... I will get some fiddler crabs this weekend... they are safe to put in the tank?

I'm always worried about putting crabs in there...thought they might try to get my fish... mostly cuz I had an emerald crab hitchike once and he kept pinching at them...

We actually just ate crab legs tonite..but I didn't notice this problem til we already dumped all the shells out back for the critters to eat... if we get more crab legs at some point...can I just throw some of the shells in there from the parts we aren't going to eat before they are cooked?

yes feed them raw, they wouldnt eat cooked crab in the ocean. Also I think cooking removes nutritional value of the meat.

I put a fiddler in my tank years ago and he ended up carpet surfing.

I tried putting some little crabs in my pond out with my koi..but they ended up gone after about two days...guess they didn't like the pond...

I will look for those this weekend...I'm sure there are plenty around at the bait shop..if I find small enough ones..hopefully they will eat them...

Ok...I went thru the torture of buying more crab legs to eat ... heh... just finished those off w/ two plus bottles of wine

put some of the shells in there before we cooked them...but they they didn't show much interest in them...

there are no bait shops in middleburg...heh....so no fiddler crabs...but will go get some in town tomorrow or Tuesday

I have seen LFS feed crawfish to puffers and triggers, maybe that will work?
