puffer puffed....

my new spiny puffer has been doing great in my tank for at least 3 weeks, but today i noticed he keeps puffing up and deflating every few minutes, not being harassed by any of his tank mates, just kind of doing it on his own. i'm just wondering if this is healthy behavior? if not what steps can i take to save him?

he's staying puffed for 5-10 minutes at a time... still ok?

The puffer has full control of its puffs, not like on nemo. Mine used to puff to stretch once in a while. If its doing it a couple of times a day, its probably getting irritated by something.

When I kept puffers, they only did it when they were stressed. How are the parameters?

IMO you have a problem.
It is true they do randomly puff up, but I have only seen mine do it twice in two years, and it was only for a few seconds.
I have heard others say theres puff once a month, but that is nowhere near every few min.
Please post your parameters, and tank mates.

Check for stray voltage.
