Puffers and Acrylic Tanks

I'm sure this question has been answered more than once, but I couldn't find it. Will a dogface puffer scratch up an acrylic tank with its teeth? Whenever I've seen them at a LFS or in someones tank, they constantly seem to be trying to bite at the glass.

Yes.

Mine is in a glass tank and makes a habit of dragging his teeth back and forth on the glass. I've never had an acrylic tank, but I can't imagine this behavior would be well received.
