pulsing xenia not pulsing

What could cause a pulsing xenia to not pulse. I just bought the xenia from the lfs today and it was pulsing at the store brought it home and its not pulsing. Is it because it is in a new system or what else could cause this?

Sometimes that just happens. A lower flow might help!

If they do not pulse , do not worry. They can stll flourish without pulsing.

Turn all your powerheads and pumps off for a few minutes, as if you were going to do a water change. All motion stops, and my xenia starts pulsing like crazy. Kinda funny and cool!

That's it, mine won't pulse unless the flow is nearly non-existent.

I am disappointed to hear that they might not pulse. The reason I bought them was because they pulse.

They will pulse, but how are you going to see them pulse anyway when they are swaying around.

What's your ph? I've seen people speculate they tend to pulse more when the ph is 8.2+ Don't know how true that is but I've been dripping kalk and mines been pulsing up a storm

I think you've confused yourself.

The discussion of flow has nothing to do with lighting. Flow=water flow.

I think he means if the power goes out, because of the comment "œpulsing action is to create their own flow".
If power goes out you will need circulation towards the surface where oxygen exchange happens, I don't think they will create enough flow to make a dent.
