Pulverized Limestone as substrate?

I have heard that you can use pulverized limestone as substrate. I am going to use it in my sump and my Remote Deep Sand Bed, do you know of any advantages/disadvantages of using it?

Here is a thread I have been using southdown for years and this stuff looks to be about the same.
