Pump choice for 72"x36"x30

Hi Roger, I currently have two 6205's in my 150G running on my Profilux with the following control:- Pump 1 30%, Pump 2 30-100% over 3s with a swap every 6 hours. The Profilux can do all the same modes as the Tunze controller which is nice, this works well in my current tank but I'm upgrading to a 72"x26"x30" (LxWxD) in-wall tank. I will have two low & wide bommies and it will be mainly SPS with some favias etc down on the sand near the front, can you suggest what extra pumps would work?

Would the addition of a Wavebox be sufficient or will I need more flow pumps? I'm keen to stick with Tunze again as your support with my original 6205 purchase was excellent :) Regards, Andy

What you have is probably enough, if I were to add anything it would be the wavebox.

Hi Roger, that's good to hear! The tank builder suggested an external glass wavebox, I know you can't recommend this over the Tunze Wavebox but which pump would you choose for it - regular 6105 or the 6215.200? Can you tell me the difference between the stock pumps and the wavebox pump - is the wavebox pump a modified 6205? Regards, Andy

Wavebox pump is now for all practical purposes a 6105 with 6305 prop and cover, this works because it doesn't run long enough to need the extra power of a 6305 being run continuously, it averages only about 25W from being cycled off and on so rapidly. 6215.200 is the best way to go.
