Pump Options for Euro-Reef RS250 or Cad Lights skimmer

M

Motopsycho007

Just went to put in one of my older skimmers and noticed wiring is fried on the CadLights. TIA pump, never hear of them, looks like an old Boyu. I can't find a replacement, any ideas?

I have a 90g and given the option I'd go back to the euro-reef in a heart beat. But that pump exploded years ago and sent the magnet all over the aquarium.

Any thoughts?

That Gen-X 6000 looks alot like a sedra pump, maybe a rebrand? 6000 litres per hour is kind of mental. Is that a needlewheel or running a venturi?

Venturi, I have searched sedra, will check again
Oh I see they're using a pinwheel not a needlewheel. That explaines the crazy flowrate and the ability to push to the top of that skimmer.

Protein Skimmers, Calcium Reactors, Turnkey Aquarium Systems, Media Reactors, Sumps and Systems by Euro-Reef

It kind of throws a wrench into McGyvering a pump since most use needlewheels now. I would say try to match a Sicce but I'm not sure any of their skimmer pumps will pump that high and have any air left.

Which Cadlights skimmer is the other one?

Not sure what model the skimmer is, very small base 7"x7" maybe

Actually the picture you posted of your TIA pump tells us it's the first one TIA-1105.

The model number on that site is a typo, it should be TIA-1150.
