Pump won't start...

I've had a 1073.040 for about 3 months and have basically only used it as a pump to fill the tank and do water changes a few dozen hours at most.
Today when I plugged it in it would not do anything. No water was pumped but if I put my hand on it it seemed like there was a very slight vibration. Is there anything I can do?

Open the pump and clean it, it sounds like the impeller is frozen to the bearings on either end. That pump has an impeller with a fixed ceramic shaft, the shaft and impeller spin as a unit in the bearings on either end which are ceramic tubes with a red silicon sleeve. Usually this will take about 4-6 months to luck up, but it can happen much faster if calcium or KH are high or additives are dosed near the pump. Do not force the parts but slowly work them off with a twisting motion, if they are stuck soak them in vinegar for a few hours and try again.

To close the loop on this topic - I was able to take apart the pump and it seems to be working once I put it back together

Found this thread in a search. Was having similar trouble with my 1073.040 and after reading discovered my ceramic bearings and shaft were seized together. Have them soaking in vinegar now and hoping this fixes it.
Thanks!
