pumps

hi roger,
what would be the optimal configuration of pumps mounted on both sides of the tank on a controller for a 48x36x25... the contents will be sps, the idea being a wave type effect
thanks

I don't know that you can get a true wave effect without the wavebox but the best layout for the pumps for circulation would be a pump in each back corner aimed to hit the front 3ft in from the corner. I would use interval 2 with a 6hr interval to roughly simulate the tides and set a 2-3 second pulse from 30-100%

I have try to make wave with the stream in the past. IMO, it is a very bad idea. My magnet holder break all the time, the pump broke off the swivel arm etc... If you use the 7095, you will not be able to make wave because the interval ain't fast enough. As Roger mentioned, wavebox is way to go if you want some wave in the tank...

i can go wavebox no problem, will one wavebox be enough, or should i use a supplementary pump?
thanks

You can start with 1 wavebox but with the 36" wide you may not achieve much. The stream pump is good for directional flow...

You may need 2. Why don't you start with 1 wavebox first to see how well it work then add on the extension later if necessary...

will do, i actually have one already, so it wont be any effort to see what its like when the tanks set up :)

For your 48" tank, you may want to start on the low end. Turn the white knob on our controller counter clockwise till it stop and slowly (i mean super slow) adjust clockwise... It may get a little tricky but you will get some wave i promise :D
