purchasing sps

hey,

just wondering where everybody is getting there sps from on long island. if its a lfs, which one, and are they special ordering it for you? i cant seem to find nice sps (frags or colonies) anywhere without spending $250+ by ordering online.

I was at Suffolk County Fish & Reef this weekend. They have some nice stuff. They had some nice, interesting pieces in the rear tanks under 20k lamps.

You can try Aqua Hut, I have seen some nice things there, too.

Otherwise why don't you check out Lonnie (LCGOLDMAN).
He recently had some nice frags from his tank at a nice $$$.

i never see any nice acros at suffolk county fish and reef. they always seem to have poor color and there overpriced, but thats just my opinion.

i plan on attending the next meeting in january, as long as i can get off work.
do i have to send in the membership application or can i just pay my dues when i go?

i picked up a few frags like the day before lonnie put up his post and i had picked up everything he was offering minus the birdsnest.

when les does open, how are his sps usually and how are his prices?

You could try Pets Warehouse on sSunrise highway in copauige. I would give them a call first but the last time I was in thay had some decent colonies at fair prices. Remember the nicer the color and shape the more you are going to pay. I have also really liked Dr Mac in the past. He is mail order but I never got any bad pieces from him, since he was taken over his prices have gotten a little steep

Mac has some sweet corals, you'll notice a lot of reefers that live near his shop have some hard to find corals.
