Purple bonsai acropora and coral goby?

Hi all.
I have had a very healthy purple and green bonsai acropora in my tank that has been growing well with stunning colour action for 6 + months. Recently I have added a coral goby to the tank that has taken up residence in it. Now I am seeing some recession in the coral 😪 Is this down to the goby? Or should I be looking at my chemistry?

Many thanks Craig.

It's the goby. I'm in the exact same situation as you, I added a citron goby to my SPS dominated tank that's been up for a year without any problems and within 2 days went from full polyp extension to none and now a couple corals have whitish blotches on them. Further research reveled this is not uncommon for these fish.

Oh no!!! Should have done my research :furious: now to come up with a cunning plan on how to get him out of there, shame as he is rather cute and really looks the part. Sadly he has to go.

Thanks for the reply Browndawg.

Good to know these guys are that problematic. Are their perching behaviors bad for birdsnest? Any ideas?

I hope not  mine hasn't moved out of the acropora so cant really advise but would imagine it would be a case of any port in a storm
