I don't know why, some people feed corals. If they have symbolic algae, the feed from the sun. Corals indeed can eat from a passing food supply, but they don't need to, as long as they have great lighting in the spectrum and intensity they need. So, no need to spend money, time and extra nutrients into the tank.

Yep, you're right! They could survive well without any feeding, when the right light is there.
Unless you would like to give them some treat and have them at the best shape possible, reproducing a bit faster and showing some extra colors.
Same for zoanthids.
