Any thoughts? Purple death? Or something else?

Nope that's a zoanthid, PD's are protopalythoas.

Could be carribeanne/similar area'd zoanthid.

It's from the Florida area, I think. It looked freshly harvested.

A lot of florida folks are selling those I think on Ebay. or similar typed zoanthids. blue zoos, cool blue zoos, rare blue zoas, blue halo zoas etc.......
