purple lobster ?'s

i posted in the invertabrate forum as well..

anyone with one of these? do you ever see it once put in your tank? Will they be agressive with say a mandrin that might perch right by it unaware the lobster is there?

I think all lobsters are at least somewhat aggresive.

I had a Red Lobster that never bothered anything but never a purple. The only problem I had with the Red was that it loved to dig and it was about 7" long so it had some big "holes" in the sand.

FYI

the invertabrate forum was against putting a purple lobster with fish, one guy lost atleast 6 fish from his.

I have had one four about 3 yrs. not a problem. It hides in a cave in my rockwork. You only see it at night when the lights are out. Have never gad a problem with him. He has been through three moves, and upgraded to bigger tanks twice.

some villain at Marine Solutions(not the much maligned marty) sold me one a few years ago and I can't catch him. He's killed about 3 linkia, and is suspected on a number of missing fish. Can't trap him--have only seen him a few times at night, by using a flashlight.
