Purple Magnifica?

What do you guys and gals think the true color of this anemone?
Notice:
The basket should be black (most likely) is purple.
The Extruded Zooxanthellae is reddish purple. We all know that this is dark brown in color.

When I first saw it, the anemone looked unnatural. One of my initial thoughts was the anemone is a purple Crispa but it seems to be a Magnifica.

Not sure on the color but I have ordered from them in the past and was happy with what they sent. When I bought from them they texted me a bunch of pictures so maybe ask them to do that.

Color in any of these inverts (corals and clams as well) is really hard to judge without seeing in person .... it's soooooo light dependent.

Here's a pictures he sent me. I've gotten Ritteri from him before. They're pretty much brown not purple like the picture.

I never see Mags on eBay. Just they just sell really fast? I can't even find this seller. Is it "Aqua Dreams"?

As much as it would be awesome if it were purple, i bet it is just a regular tan/slightly purple Mag like is seen frequently. Blue led just messing with the white balance of the camera. i saw some gorgeous, colorful mags diving once, but they just don't seem to get in the hobby. Maybe they bleach or something.

You know anemones better than anyone and I bet your instinct is right.

FJW got in some African Mags this week i am going to check out. Dennis said some have purple or maybe even red base, so worth a look. Regular colored tentacles.

Good luck!

What color did this one turnout to be? I was looking a pic of a purple bra and wondered if it would be brown under anything less than 20k light

I have some pics that the seller sent me. He said up front it was more brownish than the pic was showing. I was certainly impressed he was up front like that

Close to 10 years ago I bought a purple Amplexidiscus mushroom off of Divers Den. Their picture was bright purple similar to the first picture of the anemone above.

This was in my tank, not fully expanded, the day after arrival.

A month later, fully expanded, and acclimated to my tank and lighting. My lights were 10k halides with t5 actinic supplement.

After my experience with that mushroom I have never trusted corals that are supposedly purple to be purple unless there is something white in the picture to show true balance.
