I bought the purple masked angel yesterday and will be shipped tomororw. I know this angel is very difficult to keep. They don't do well plus they don't eat too well. Do you know how's this particular one is doing in your holding tank? What kind of food is he feeding on? I plan to keep him in a fish only tank? is it possible?

Perculaclown,

Thank you for purchasing this great specimen. Your Purple Masked Angel is eating frozen mysis shrimp very well, here at our Aquaculture Coral and Marine Life Facility.

Keeping the Purple Masked Angel in a fish only tank would be an ideal environment. Congratulations on acquiring this beauty!

Thanks and I hope this one will make it. I also have a golden angel for 2 weeks and has not been eating. Any tips on get him to eat?

perculaclown,

We’re sorry to hear that your Golden Angel is not eating. You may wish to try soaking the angel food in Selcon and/or Garlic Xtreme to entice the fish to eat and help boost the nutritional quality of any freeze-dried or frozen food you offer. Typically Golden Angels prefer a variety of different tastes and textures in their diet. Offering a variety of foods to encourage the angel’s appetite is also a good idea. This includes live sponges, diced or chopped up meaty items (shrimp, clams, crab, oysters, etc.) and prepared foods specifically for saltwater angelfish.

We hope these suggestions help. Please let us know if we can be of any additional assistance.
